Pre-Bid Questions Project Name: Clifton Hill Road (Route 75) Project Number: VI-0075(004) Contractor Request for Clarifications Responses by DPW and Consultant 1. In accordance with section 109.01 — Measure of Work, in the project supplemental specifications please provide the soil analysis data for our review, i.e. bores sample, soil identification and/or gradation. Soil data will be required in order to confirm the site conditions. There is no soil analysis data available for this project. 2. Is rock blasting going to be acceptable for removal of solid rock on project if discovered? Due to the close proximity of the residential development, no rock blasting will be permitted on the project. 3. Please confirm that line item 301 — Aggregate Base will be measured by the ton in the truck. Item 301 will be measured by the ton in the hauling vehicle. ( Based on ticketed loads) in accordance with 109.03 of FP-03 4, Plan sheets B1-B3 show the paving of 1 inch. Please confirm that this will be paid for under line item 40201-14. This item will be paid under item 403 as revised. 5. Based on site visit there appears to be approximately 6 light poles that will require relocation. Please confirm what line item will this be paid under. Adjustment of light poles and overhead lines will be under the utility agreement with WAPA/Viya. 6. Are the conduit and wiring on the bid schedule for the relocating of the light poles or new traffic signal system? Conduit and wiring are for the relocated new traffic signals. 7. There is only 100 If of wire and 1,522 If of conduit show on the bid schedule. We would assume these numbers should be similar. Please confirm that these quantities are correct. Quantities are correct. Electric service wire (100 If) is for electric power only. For supply from source to signal controller the conduit runs (1,522 If) is for the entire signal system pull box to pull box, connecting signal poles in the corners and connecting to the signal controller box. 8. How will line item 20441-0000, Waste — Cubic Yard, be measured in the field for payment. According with subsection 204.16(e), measure waste by the cubic yard in its final position. Take initial cross sections of the ground surface after stripping over burden. Upon completion of the waste placement, retake cross sections before replacing overburden.
