Act No. 6290 (BILL NO. 23-0004) (Approved September 14, 1999) To amend Title 14, Chapter 1, Subsection III, Virgin Islands Code, pertaining to justifiable use of force and for other related purposes Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. Title 14, Chapter 1, Subchapter III, Virgin Islands Code, is amended by adding a new Section 44 to read: "Section 44. Justifiable Use of Force (a) Any person is justified in the use of force when: (1) the person is resisting an attempt by another to kill him or to inflict serious bodily injury upon him; or (2) the person is resisting an unlawful or forcible entry by another into his residence and he reasonably believes that there is an imminent threat of harm to him or his family. …
