COMMITTEE ON RULES AND JUDICIARY BILL NO. 35-0064 Thirty-Fifth Legislature of the Virgin Islands March 24, 2023 An Act amending title 3 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 27, section 715, subsection (c) relating to the power of the Government Employees Retirement System Board of Trustees to appoint the Administrator of the Government Employees Retirement System to eliminate the requirement for the Legislature’s advice and consent to the appointment of the Administrator PROPOSED BY: Senator Milton E. Potter Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: 1 SECTION 1. Title 3 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 27, section 715, subsection (c) is 2 amended by striking “, with the advice and consent of the Legislature,”. 3 BILL SUMMARY 4 This bill amends the provision governing the appointment process of the Government 5 Employees Retirement System Board of Trustees for appointment of the System’s 6 Administrator by abolishing the requirement for the Legislature’s advice and consent to the 7 appointment. 8 BR23-0445/March 13, 2023/YLT 9
