ACTNO. 7519 BILL NO. 30-0063 THIRTIETH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2013 An Act amending Title 5 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 407, section 4606, by requiring that the Territorial Parole Board notify victims when an inmate is paroled ---0--- Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. Title 5 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 407, section 4606, is amended by renaming it ““§ 4606 Restitution and Notification of Victims”, designating the existing language as subsection (a) and adding subsections (b) and (c) to read as follows: “(b) | Unless waived by the victim the Territorial Parole Board shall with at least 30 days prior notice advise the victim of the following: (1) that an inmate is being considered for parole; (2) the date of the parole hearing; and (3) the victim’s right to submit documents to and provide testimony before the board at the hearing. (c) The Territorial Parole Board shall notify the victim at least 24 hours prior to an inmate being paroled.” Thus passed by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands on September 26, 2013. …
