Press Contact: Ryan Nugent Director of Communications Ryan.nugent@dhs.vi.gov Phone: (340) 725-4924 PRESS RELEASE For Immediate Release: 21 February 2023 DHS announces modified classroom schedules at Frederiksted and Kingshill Head Start due to water access challenges U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS - The Virgin Islands Department of Human Services (VIDHS), Office of Head Start, is notifying parents and guardians of students at Frederiksted Head Start, that school will be closed today to conduct emergency water pump and internal water line repairs to address a water leak reported this past weekend. In addition, Kingshill Head Start will continue to operate on a half-day schedule this week in response to water pressure issues in that service area. Operating hours will be from 7:30 a.m. -12:00 p.m. until further notice, to accommodate similar repairs to the facility. Parents will be notified of changes to the schedule.
