UNIVERSITY OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS BOARD OF TRUSTEES RESOLUTION PURPOSE: To authorize the President to suspend admission of new students to academic programs while such programs are undergoing suspension or closure. Upon motion duly made and seconded, the following Resolution was adopted by the members of the Board of Trustees of the University of the Virgin Islands: WHEREAS, the periodic program review process might lead to suspension or closure of a program; and WHEREAS, the suspension or closure of a program may require several months or years to accomplish; and WHEREAS, the admission of new students to the program would lengthen the time required to complete the anticipated changes; be it RESOLVED, THAT whenever a major change in the status of an academic program is being contemplated, the Board of Trustees hereby authorizes the President to: 1. Make a determination whether it is in the best interest of the University to suspend admission of new students to the program while the process for evaluating and changing the program is underway. …

UNIVERSITY OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS BOARD OF TRUSTEES RESOLUTION PURPOSE: To authorize the President to suspend admission of new students to academic programs while such programs are undergoing suspension or closure. Upon motion duly made and seconded, the following Resolution was adopted by the members of the Board of Trustees of the University of the Virgin Islands: WHEREAS, the periodic program review process might lead to suspension or closure of a program; and WHEREAS, the suspension or closure of a program may require several months or years to accomplish; and WHEREAS, the admission of new students to the program would lengthen the time required to complete the anticipated changes; be it RESOLVED, THAT whenever a major change in the status of an academic program is being contemplated, the Board of Trustees hereby authorizes the President to: 1. Make a determination whether it is in the best interest of the University to suspend admission of new students to the program while the process for evaluating and changing the program is underway. a8 Suspend admission of new students to the program for one academic year if the President’s decision is in the affirmative. 3. Obtain approval of the Board of Trustees if it is necessary to suspend admission of new students to a program beyond the period of one academic year. CERTIFICATION The undersigned does hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and exact copy of the Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the University of the Virgin Islands adopted at its meeting on February 15, 1997, and recorded in the minutes of said meeting.
