ACT NO.639 2 BILL NO. 24-0021 TWENTY-FOURTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS _OF THE UNITED STATES Regular Session 2001 To repeal ‘section 1‘(a) of Act No. 6391, which increase the hotel room tax from 8% to 10%; and to provide for an appropriation to the Virgin Islands Educational Initiative Fund ---0--- BE IT ENACTED by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. Act No. 6391 (Bill No. 23-0306), section 1(a), is repealed in its entirety. SECTION 2. Pursuant to the provisions of section 1 (a) of Act No. 6391, which was repealed under section 1 of this Act, the additional 2% on hotel room tax under title 33, section 54, Virgin Islands Code, which was collected from the date of passage of Act No. 6391, section 1(a) until its repeal hereunder shall be appropriated to the Virgin Islands Education Initiative Fund as established under title 33, section 3093, Virgin Islands Code.
