Cork, Nov. 12th.—The hunger-strike of the nine Ir sh prisoners in the Cork jail was called ~ff today, the 94th day of the strike, Belgrade, Nov. 12th. —=The text of the defensive convention, coaciuded between Serbia (Jugo-Slavia) and Czecho-Slovakia on August 14th has been made public. It orovides that in the event of an un- provoked attack by Hungary on either party to the convention the other shall come to its aid. The convention is for two years, when it may be denounced by either party, .but it will remain in force for six months after its denunci- atior. Neither party ¢éan concilude an alliance wiih a third power without noti- fication to the other. : London, Nov. 12th.—The British-Ar- menian Committee has received tele- grams from Tiflis announcing that the Armenians have sustained a calamitous defeat- at the hands of the Turks under Mustapha Kemal Pasha. The despatch _says they lost Kars owing to inferiority in forces and lack of artillery. The sole means of railway communication with Erivan and the outside world. [t is added by the despatghes that the Bol- sheviki are concentrgted and near Taar aklis and Thier andthat a junction with the followers of Kemal Pasha is hourly expected. It is asserted in the des- patches that it is feared the Turks will impose terms depriving Armenia from access to the sea and of the whole pro- vince of Taara and the portion of Arda- han within the Armenian frontier in addition to all thet erritory occupied. Paris, Nov. 12th.—A définite agree- ment concerning the procedure to be followed with regard to the reparations due by Germany was reached today between the French and British Gov- ernments.
