The convention also provides thai the sender of a registered package is enti- tled, in case of loss, lamage, or rifling thereof, to an indemnity equal to the amount of the aectual loss incurred, not exceeding 50 franes (approximately $9. 65) for any one package. COULTER. lN reference to the resolutions said to have been passed by ithe Supreme Coupci! of the Labor Union in session assembled, it is hereby made known : 1. That there was no session of the Supreme Council on June 14th, tut only certain members of the Supreme Council invited to a meeting whers Mr. Brow acted as Chairman and Rev. Barrow as Secretary. 2. That the Chairman of the Supreme Council who is the President of the La- bor Union was unaware of the proceed- ings. as also the Executive Officers of the Union and a number of other mem- bers of the Council. 3. That no meeting of the Supreme Council can be convened except in the regular way prescribed by the laws of the Union. 4. That, regardless of whodisapprove, the president acted within his econstitu- tional authovity when, after serving sev- eral notices on Rev. Barrow to vacate the premises, finally took legal steps to enforee his request; aid the Court up- keld the action, in spite of whoever tries to set at naught the Court’s decision. 5. Rev. Barrow is not at present aci- ing Director of the Educational Depart- ment, nor is he a member of the St. Croix Labor Union. ' The Executive Officers of the ILabor Union refuse to be led away into any agitation fthat they realize is bound to ultimately destroy the good relations and peace in the community.
