Handsome, young, and ambitious Mr. Misbeh is again assaulting Beeston Hill with his plans to turn a fast buck. Please do not be beguiled by his honeyed words of altruism and community fervor. His plans for Beeston Hill and Hermon Hill only include re-zoning for profit, not improving either community. Beeston Hill, as are Mount Royal and Questa Verde, is a settled, slowly-grown pleasant and reasonably quiet community situated on an unfortunately cluttered and bendy road with a history of frequent fender-benders and many traffic jams. …

Beeston Hill, as are Mount Royal and Questa Verde, is a settled, slowly-grown pleasant and reasonably quiet community situated on an unfortunately cluttered and bendy road with a history of frequent fender-benders and many traffic jams. The road, variously known as Centerline, Queen Mary Highway, Contentment/Orange Grove, and Aloy "Wenty) Nielsen, much like an electric conduit, has too many square "estate" corners and carries the main traffic, east and west and north and south, in and out of Christiansted at the peak times of day. There are no traffic lights, and at this time, very few road markings and signage. What I call Contentment Junction can be a nightmare, and has been a fatal one from time to time. I believe you will find the Misbeh name on property on both sides of this road. But he only views the traffic as sources of sales, not as problems to be accounted/allowed for and solved. It is my belief that he makes no plans to IMPROVE an area, just to profit from it. I was born at Beeston Hill. I have never wanted to live anywhere else but St. Croix. I wish to spend my few remaining years among friends and family in the quiet little house I built there. You talk about NIMBY--- Mr. Misbeh intends a "high class" FAST FOOD "restaurant" 200 ft. from my (and Julie George's ) property line. Please do not let this ambitious young man pull the wool over your eyes. No one but his brother and his bank account is on "his side". Please keep in mind that 1006 people signed the Beeston Hill change.org against the re-zoning last time, and those people vote here.
