Richards by Request of Governor Ss COOAND A RPWAN = BE IT ENACTED by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. Act 6303 (Bill 23-0120) Section 1, is amended by adding the following, and adjusting the total accordingly: C/CNTR BC1508 OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY & HEALTH PERSONNEL: CLASSIFIED 300,635 UNCLASSIFIED 104,000 ALL OTHER EXPENSES 343,793 TOTAL C/CNTR BC1508 748,428 TOTAL FUND 263100 3,249,655 SECTION 2. Act 6300 (Bill 23-0115) is amended by deleting the following language in its entirety and by reducing the total appropriation by $669,428. C/CNTR EO1508 OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY & HEALTH PERSONNEL: CLASSIFIED 300,635 UNCLASSIFIED 104,000 ON Oa tWND ALL OTHER EXPENSES = 294,793 TOTAL C/CNTR EO1508 699,428 EXPLANATION Because of the deficit in the Government Insurance Fund, the appropriation for the Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) program will be made from the Caribbean Basin Initiative Fund for the year ending September 30, 2000. The approval of the Federal matching grant to the OSH program is contingent on the certainty of the local match. If this local match is not met, the Federal funding will be lost.
