Roach, Esq., Lieutenant Governor and Commissioner of Insurance RE: Data Call to Collect Data Related to Business Interruption Insurance and COVID-19 This Bulletin is being issued to all U.S. Virgin Islands licensed or authorized property and casualty commercial insurers for the purpose of providing notification to these companies that the companies must complete the COVID-19 business interruption data call and submit data to the National Association of Insurance Commissioner (“NAIC”) if the companies wrote business interruption coverage in this Territory in 2019 and 2020. You should have also received a similar communication from the NAIC regarding the data call. I, Lieutenant Governor Tregenza A. Roach, Esq. in my capacity as Commissioner of Insurance, have agreed to participate in the NAIC’s data call to collect data related to business interruption insurance and COVID-19. As such, the NAIC will be collecting on behalf of the U.S. Virgin Islands the requested data from property and casualty commercial insurers licensed and authorized to do business in the Territory. It should be noted, the data call submission does not apply to: (1) nonadmitted alien insurers; and (2) life or health insurers, monoline financial guaranty, mortgage guaranty title, fidelity, nonmedical professional liability insurers, and reinsurers. Bulletin No. 2020-11 Your timely cooperation in this effort is anticipated and will be greatly appreciated.
