GOVERNMENT OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS OF THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES Press Contact: Ryan Nugent, Director, Office of Communications Phone: (340) 725-4924 ryan.nugent@dhs.vi.gov PRESS RELEASE For Immediate Release: July 25, 2022 Virgin Islands Department of Human Services Office of Child Care and Regulatory Services will accept new CARES Act Grant Applications until September 10, 2022 (U.S. Virgin Islands)- Having awarded CARES Act Grants totaling approximately $700,000 to Child Care Providers across the territory since July 2021, and an additional $220,000 approved for disbursal, the VIDHS Office of Child Care and Regulatory Services announces that it has resumed accepting CARES Act Grant applications. The last day for submitting a new grant application is September 10, 2022. If you are a licensed Child Care provider that has not already been awarded CARES Act Grant funds, you are eligible to apply for up to $30,000 in Cares Act funding. Or visit the VIDHS website at dhs.gov.vi and download the application from the Office of Child Care and Regulatory Services page. Please utilize the updated 2022 application provided at the indicated locations. You may also call (340)772-7147 St. Croix or (340)774-0930 ext. 4186 on St. Thomas for further information. CARES Act Grant funds are 100% federal dollars provided to the territory’s childcare providers through the US Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families Office of Child Care.
