We take a lively inter- est in the mails and the mail service because we feel that for some reason or ather we never get it early enough via ['rederiksted which we do not be- lieve to be zpy fault or the postmasier there, and this is why we took pains to see how it would work here yester- terday. Unfortunately the publie, most- ly children, behaved so abominably that general de iverv had to be suspended here yesterday afterrcon. Dear Sir.— Kindly allow me some of your pre- cious space to comment a little on Mr. Kitehen’s '‘jocular dishes’’, for really, with but few items which may be worth commnient; the greater part can heartily be laughed at. We are now in the hands of the ‘‘Re- publican party’’, and from mv sound ex- perience they are impetuous and sharp in action and not wanting in means for the great outlay whenever the right *‘idea’’ has been advanced. The $25,000.000 which was paid for the isilands by the Democratic party, under brave ex President Wilson, has been a big annuyance to many of the party, such as the Kitchen type; but to those Ameri- cans of the republican party whose great “‘desire’’ it always was to own the Dan- ish islands, and whose “‘desirel’ is now actually fulfilled; it will be a great plea- sure to do all they can during the running years tor tne betterment of the islands and the fulfillmenrt ot a “promise’’ made by them many years ago, which 1 will repreduce later, : And is the noble little Denmark hus- banding ali this money?
