Owners of estates are to specify in writing the exact number of acrves In sugar cultivation, in cotton cultivation, in other cultivation and in pasture. Also information eoncerning the buildings on the estate and the appropriation thereof, especially if there are rooms rented to other than laborers permanently em- ployed, and the length and width of said rooms and the rental thereof. If any portion of the land is considered to be useless, and yields no revenue to the owner, the number of acres of such portion must be stated in the taxlist and a certificace on oath issued by the pro- prietor and two Burghers residing in the quarter, and furthermore attesied by the b R O Xe ATEN Quarter Officer, and delivered to the Commission. : Owners of empty lots in town are re- quested to fill in th?;:axlism accurately, giving the informatic.of sesired, in order that it may be ascertained if any new buildings have been erected on the pro- perty during the year, also stating ‘he time when such buildings were first occupied. In order that reduction can be obtained in the taxes for dwelling houses, ware- houses and sheds, wkich have been un- occupied for two months and upwards, £l Suunlssion would particularly draw .e aftention of those parties desiring reduction, that it is very necessary 1n such cases that certificates to that effect be produced stating that the hous sheds ete. have been vacant during .aid period. In case persous neglect to deliver a taxlist for any estate In due time, the Commission will, be= fore closing the meeting assess the tax for said estate according to the hoet of its knowledge. Taxlists w.ich are forwarded later to the Commission, will, together with a list of those estates that have omit- ted to send in their taxlists, be transmitted to the Government in order that other measures be taken. Blauks for taxlists will be distributed some aays previous to th2 meeting of th= Tax Comimission and are required to be accurately filled out by the parties concerned and delivered to the Commis- sion on the day which is fixed for each street in the town and each quarter in the couantry.
