EDITORIAL. - When it was mentionnd inthis paper of the sth. instant that the contractor had called for but not got the New York mail by the Guiana on the evening of the 4th., it was not intended to throw fault ~ on apyone, and_least of all un the ener- ~ getic and obliging posimaster at Fred- ~ eriksted who nevertheless appearswbe ~ understood as the one responsible for ~ the non-receipt of the Christiansted mail ~ Wednesday evening. . The contractor told ~ the postmaster here that he had triea to ~ bring the mail but that the steamer had - not landed it.
