Tis hereb® made known, that whereas ' tue following Members of the Colonial Council, elected by the Town and Su- burbs of Christiansted will have te retire from the Council in accordance with Art. 17 of the Colonial Law, viz: Ist Member Mr. Wm. S. Abramson, 3rd " ‘** Wm. L. Pentheny Government has resolved in virtue cos Art. 28 of the Colonial Law that the GENERAL ELECTION of members to the Council in lieu of the said gentlemen shall take place in the Court House of Christiansted Jwrisdiction on FRIDAY THE 6TH MAY a. c. . The polling wil commence at 1 o’clock p. m. and in accordance with Art. 30 of the Colonial Law will close at 4 o’clock p. m. at the earliest. At the election no one can be consider- ed unless he has announced himself as a candidate or has been so announced by one of the electors oft e electoral dis- triet. The announcement of candidature shall eirher be made in writing or by personal attendance of the aunouncer before he electoral board. The written announcement, signed by the announcer (arnouncers) must the sent to the under signed chairman at my official office, not later than 4 o’clock p. m. on the 2nd May a. ¢. and for receiving announcements made personally the Electoral Board will meet at the place where the election is to be held, at 3 o’clock p. m, on Tuesday the 3rd May a. c.
