Turnbull as Governor Albert Bryan seeks your advice and consent on Attorney Turnbull's nomination to the Bench of the Superior Court. I recall seeing Melanie for the first time. She was delivering a closing argument in a murder case that was a lost cause. But she was fantastic! So poised and in control of the well! I thought she would make an excellent federal prosecutor. Instead, she went to the federal public defender’s office where she developed a reputation as one of the best the office ever produced. I can attest to her skills in the courtroom, her total grasp of the rules of evidence and procedure, and her respectful demeanor towards the court and opposing counsel. Melanie will make an excellent judge. She is smart. She is charming. She is level. …
