ACT NO. 7831 ata BILL NO. 31-0162 THIRTY-FIRST LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2015 An Act amending 16 V.LC., chapter 7, section 181 relating to change of name applications, requiring the applicant to provide certain identifying information ---0--- Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. Title 16 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 7, section 181 is amended by striking “district” and inserting “superior”, designating the existing paragraph as subsection (b) and by adding subsection (a) to read as follows: “(a) Each application for change of name must be notarized and must provide the following information about the applicant: (1) The applicant’s name and current address; (2) The date and place of birth of the applicant, and if known, the applicant's father’s name, the applicant’s mother’s maiden name, and where the applicant has resided since birth; (3) If the applicant is married, the name of the applicant’s spouse, and if the applicant has children, the names and ages of each child and where the child resides; (4) Astatement that the applicant …
