ACTNO. 6997 BILL NO. 27-0146 TWENTY-SEVENTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2008 An Act amending 3 V.LC., to reestablish the Bureau of Corrections and providing for other related purposes ---0--- Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION I. Title 3 Virgin Islands Code is amended by adding chapter 21 to read as follows: “CHAPTER 21. § 371. As used in this chapter, unless the context requires, otherwise (a) “Director” means the Director of the Bureau of Corrections (b) “Bureau” means the Bureau of Corrections § 372. There is established in the executive branch of the Government of the Virgin Islands, the Bureau of Corrections. § 373. The Bureau is administered under the supervision and direction of the Director. (a) The Governor shall appoint the Director with the advice and consent of the Legislature. The Director shall hold office during the continuance in office of the Governor by whom he is appointed and until his successor is appointed and qualified, unless sooner removed by the Governor. …
