The victim told the investigator on January 31, 2022, that Mr. Shamar Brown assaulted him because he was dating his ex-girlfriend. The victim stated that he and his brother were taking their usual morning walk in the area where Mr. Brown resided, and he began throwing rocks at them. Mr. Brown then entered his residence and returned with a handgun and discharged several shots at them, however, no one was injured. …

On March 2, 2023, detectives obtained a warrant for the arrest of Shamar J. Brown. On Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at 6:04 a.m., 26-year-old, Shamar J. Brown was arrested at his residence without incident. Mr. Brown was charged with Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree, Assault Third, Discharging or Aiming of a Firearm, Carrying of Firearms Openly or Concealed, and Possession or Sale of Ammunition. He declined to provide a statement, and his bail was set at $100,000.00. He was remanded to the John Bell Adult Correctional Facility pending his Advice of Rights Hearing. ###
