ACTNO. 6978 BILL NO. 27-0105 TWENTY-SEVENTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2007 An Act amending 3 V.I.C., Chapters 1 and 22 to transfer the Virgin Islands Energy Office from the Department of Planning and Natural Resources to the Office of the Governor, and for other related purposes ---0--- Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. Title 3 Virgin Islands Code, Chapter 22, Section 409, is repealed. SECTION 2. Title 3 Virgin Islands Code, Chapter 1, is amended by adding Section 8 to read as follows: "§ 8 Virgin Islands Energy Office” (a) There is established in the Office of the Governor the Virgin Islands Energy Office. The Office is headed by a Director appointed by the Governor. The Director shall perform such duties as may be assigned by the Governor. (b) The Virgin Islands Energy Office is designated the 'state agency' for the planning, oversight and coordination of energy programs mandated by federal law including, but not limited to, the 1975 Energy Policy and Conservation Act (42 U.S.C. …
