Tis hereby made known, that whereas l the following Memnber of the (Colonial Council, elected by the Town and Sua- burbs of Frederiksted will h-ve to retire from the Council in accordance with Art. 17 of the Colonial Law, viz: 2nd Member Mr. Robt. L. Merwin. Government has resolved in virtue of Art. 28 of the Colonial Law that the GENERAL FLECTION of Members to the Couacil in lieu of the said gentle- man shall take place in the Court House of Frederiksted Juwisdiction on FRIDAY THE 6TH. MAY a. c. The polling will commence at 1 o’cloek p.m. and in aceerdance with Art. 30 of the Colonial Law will close at 4 o’clock p. m. at the earliest. At the election no one can he consi- dered unless he has announced himself as a candidate or has been so announced by one of the electors of the electoral district. The announcemert of candi dature shall either he made in writing . by personal attendance of the anouncer before the electoral board.
