ACTNO. 8402 BILL NO. 33-0369 THIRTY-THIRD LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2020 An Act authorizing the removal of the copper bust of King Christian IX from the Emancipation Garden and replacing it with the statue of “the Conch Shell Blower” statue and appropriating $20,000 from the Centennial Special Fund for the removal and replacement of the bust; and mandating the use of Kings Wharf for monuments and statutes dedicated to Virgin Islands heroes o--0)--- Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. The State Historic Preservation Officer shall coordinate with the Council on the Arts and cause the removal of the bust of the 150" Anniversary pubic art installation referred to as the bust of King Christian IX, from the Emancipation Garden, in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; the display of the bust at the King Christian Museum; and the replacement of the bust with “the Conch Shell Blower” statue from another location in the Emancipation Garden. …
