IN “DAREDEVIL JACK” Jack Dempsey, champion heavyweight, plays the title role and puts many convincing punches into the picture. Dempsey 1s youthtul enough to fit into the romance of the story, developing later in this picture which has more to do with punches than with smiles, and believe me, 1/ Real Punches, not Stage Punches. The Story: Jack Derry in *‘Daredevil Jack’’ accidentally becomes involved in a mystery sur- rounding Glory Billings, when fate makes him her rescuer in a kidnapping episor' e, In the early stages of the story two prospectors are searching for gold ina + *=2rn desert. One of them is obliged to return to the settlement with his sick wife. he other, after promising his partner a half interest in what he finds, continues with his little girl into the wilderness. The stor ™en rXips saveral years ahead, and we find the girl, Glory, living in the home of he. _ .u«®han, Leonard Billings. One day, when she is laotoring along the country road alone, she is stopped and siezed by thiree men with whom she is struggling when Jack Derry, a college athlete, happens to come along in time to beat off the kidnappers and resue the girl. As the story develops Billings is found in possession of a secret told him by Glory, to the effect that her fr.her, on his last prospecting trip, discovered a subterranean basin of pure oil. I e various exciting situations that develop, Derry is always on havnd, usually throt the informatior <ent him by the Billings butler, as the rescuer of Glory. .
