iCTNO. 8251 BILL NO. 33-0 117 THIRTY-THIRD LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2019 An Act amending title 1, chapter II of the Virgin Islands Code by adding a new section 200k. establishing Virgin Islands Flag Day and for other related purposes ---0--- WHEREAS, on May 17. 1921. the Virgin Islands (V.1.) flag was adopted. symbolizing a significant day in our Territory’s history; WHEREAS, the V.1. flag consists of a simplified version of the coat of anus of the United States between the letters “V” and “F’, and the yellow-colored eagle holds a sprig of laurel in one talon as a symbol of peace and three arrows in the other talon which stand for the three major islands that make up the Vi.; and WHEREAS, it is fitting that, on the anniversary of the V.1. flag’s origin, the people of the Virgin Islands pay special honor, encourage national pride, and pledge allegiance to the Territory of the Virgin Islands; Now, Therefore, Be it enacted by (lie Legislature of (lie Virgin Islands: SECTION 1.
