Athen’s correspondent, quoting newspaper despatches received there. Santiago, Chile, July 26th.—This city was rocked by a strong earthquake at 12.30 o’clock this morning. The disturb- ance was felt throughout the Central Zone of the conntry from Serena to Con- ception. Advices from Argentina say an earthquake occurred at Mendeza last night, lasting nearly two minutes. Es- timates of the duration of the shock vary. Despatches from Valparaiso say that the earthquake produced consider- able alarm.
