Oriol of the Department of Planning and Natural Resources informs the public that the following St. Thomas Coastal Zone Management (CZM) Committee Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at 4:00 pm. This meeting will be held via the video conferencing platform Microsoft Teams. The agenda is as follows: Decision Meetings (public testimony will not be heard) Federal Consistency Determination, CZM0016-24, WTJX Radio Station. The project proposes the demolition and rebuilding of the radio station. The project will demolish all existing buildings including the roof structure and interior and exterior walls. This will also include the complete demolition of the existing satellite antenna equipment, their foundations and slabs. The new facility will then be rebuilt. The requests to place temporary sargassum boom to manage sargassum seaweed influxes and to conduct maintenance dredging of the marina area totaling 1200 cy of material. Major Coastal Zone Management, CZT-13-07(L)- STT Marine Holdings (Oasis Cove Marina). The applicant requests the addition of a small office within the existing footprint, an above ground fuel storage area, a larger cistern and upgrading wastewater treatment system. Major Coastal Zone Management, CZT-06-22(W), Ritz Carlton Club. The project is proposing to install eleven Geotubes that will be filled with sand and will be placed offshore. A 750-foot removable sargassum diversion boom will be installed offshore and a barrier to prevent sargassum from moving back along the beach to the south.
