Paris, Nov. 25th.-—The French Govt. is deeply aroused over the warning given to France by Lord Curzon, in his address in Londeon yesterday, and his er ticism of the French policy at he Washington Conference. Washington, Nov. 24th—United States officials are giving some thought to the possibility of salvaging as non-comba- tant naval, or as commerc.al craft, the three new battleships now afloat, but which would not be completed under Mr. Hughes naval limitation plans. They were hopeful that in fixing the methods of scrapping, the conferees will not make an arbitrary rule that would re- quire the ships -to be sunk, or totally destroyed. It is possible shipbailding experts asserted today, that the Colo- rado, Washington and West Virginia could be converted into serviceable inter- mediate liners for commercial use pure- ly. They would have an economical speed ot 18 knots. Washington, Nov. 24th.—The illness of another delegate to the armament cunference was reported today. T.ord Lee of Fareham, First Lord oi the Ad- miralty and ranking delegate to Mr. Bal- four, head of the Great Britain delega- tion, was confined to his bed with a se- vere chill. It was said by British dele- gation members that it probably woul be several days before Lord L.e would be able to resume his place in the con- ference discussions. London, Nov. 24th.—The National Liberal Federation in Newcastle toda%r adopted a resolution endorsing Secretary of State Hughes proposal for a ten year naval holiday, saying that the British representatives in Washington be in- structed to support all practical projects for the progressive disarmament of ail nations, and demanding the publication of all treatizs.
