Browne Stapleton, RN, CNM, and to name the Labor and Delivery area of the Eugenie T. Ford OB Unit the “Cynthia V. Browne Stapleton Labor and Delivery Unit” WHEREAS, Cynthia V. Browne Stapleton, the youngest of six children, was born on the island of Nevis on June 11, 1946; and WHEREAS, Cynthia V. Browne Stapleton attended the New River Elementary School and the Charleston Secondary School in Nevis; and WHEREAS, Cynthia V. Browne Stapleton’s secondary school education was privately funded by a scholarship; and WHEREAS, in 1965, Cynthia V. Browne Stapleton upon graduation from high school, worked as a student nurse at the Alexandra Hospital in Nevis; and WHEREAS, upon the death of three of her immediate family members, Mr. and Mrs. Abrahams encouraged Cynthia V. Browne Stapleton to leave Nevis to further her education in nursing; and WHEREAS, Cynthia V. …
