ACTNO. 8386 BILL NO. 33-0325 THIRTY-THIRD LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2020 An Act amending title 23 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 10, subchapter I relating to emergencies and major disasters by adding a section 1017 to prohibit unconscionable pricing of goods and services during a declaration of a state of emergency ---0--- Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands SECTION 1. Title 23 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 10, subchapter I is amended by adding a section 1017 that reads as follows: “§ 1017. Pricing of good and services during a declaration of a state of emergency (a) Upona declaration ofa state of emergency by the Governor, it is unlawful for a person, an agent, employee, or a business owner to rent or sell, or offer to rent or sell, any essential goods or services, including those goods and services listed in section 1005 (g) (10), and supplies, services, provisions, or equipment that are necessary for consumption or use as a direct result of the emergency; at an unconscionable price. …
