RESOLUTION OF THE UNIVERSITY OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS TO APPROVE
J RESOLUTION OF THE UNIVERSITY OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS TO APPROVE A NEW DEGREE PROGRAM LEADING TO AN ASSOCIATE OF SCIENCE DEGREE IN COMPUTER SCIENCE ON THE ST. THOMAS AND ST. CROIX CAMPUSES Upon motion duly made and seconded, the following resolution was adopted by the members of the Board of Trustees of the University of the Virgin Islands: WHEREAS, there is a local and regional market demand for persons having skills and academic credentials in the area of computer science; and WHEREAS, the Territory and region will benefit from the availability of persons with skills in an area increasingly critical to the development of modern commercial activity; and WHEREAS, the University can provide the faculty and courses to meet the program needs for an associate degree in computer science at no additional cost for equipment or facilities; and WHEREAS, the University has begun discussion on articulation agreements with Clark Atlanta University and the University of Charleston to provide students of the proposed program with the opportunity to transfer to baccalaureate degree programs in compu …

J RESOLUTION OF THE UNIVERSITY OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS TO APPROVE A NEW DEGREE PROGRAM LEADING TO AN ASSOCIATE OF SCIENCE DEGREE IN COMPUTER SCIENCE ON THE ST. THOMAS AND ST. CROIX CAMPUSES Upon motion duly made and seconded, the following resolution was adopted by the members of the Board of Trustees of the University of the Virgin Islands: WHEREAS, there is a local and regional market demand for persons having skills and academic credentials in the area of computer science; and WHEREAS, the Territory and region will benefit from the availability of persons with skills in an area increasingly critical to the development of modern commercial activity; and WHEREAS, the University can provide the faculty and courses to meet the program needs for an associate degree in computer science at no additional cost for equipment or facilities; and WHEREAS, the University has begun discussion on articulation agreements with Clark Atlanta University and the University of Charleston to provide students of the proposed program with the opportunity to transfer to baccalaureate degree programs in computer science, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT: The Board of Trustees approve a new degree program leading to an Associate of Science Degree in Computer Science to be offered by the Science and Mathematics Division beginning in the Fall 1995 semester. CERTIFICATION The undersigned does hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and exact copy of the resolution of the Board of Trustees of the University of the Virgin Islands adopted at its meeting on February 18, 1995 and recorded in the minutes of said meeting.
