COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE/SESSION BILL NO. 35-0323 Thirty-Fifth Legislature of the Virgin Islands August 30, 2024 An Act amending sections 8 and 9 of Act No. 7267 by changing the authorized use of Matricula 22-a Estate Mars Hill, West End Quarter, St. Croix, Virgin Islands, and by reprogramming the $2,000,000 appropriation PROPOSED BY: Senator Novelle E. Francis, Jr. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: 1 SECTION 1. (a) Act No. 7267 is amended by striking section 9 in its entirety and 2 inserting the following new language: 3 “The Department of Property and Procurement shall transfer title and ownership of 4 Matricula 22-a Estate Mars Hill, West End Quarter, St. Croix, Virgin Islands, consisting 5 of approximately 44.503 U.S. acres, as more fully described in OLG No. 5123, dated 6 October 29, 1998, to the Virgin Islands Housing Finance Authority for the purpose of 7 constructing mixed-income affordable housing.” 8 (b) The $2,000,000 appropriated to the Virgin Islands Housing Finance Authority 9 (“VIHFA”) in section 8 of Act No. …
