BILL NO. 24-0110 TWENTY-FOURTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS OF THE UNITED STATES Regular Session 2001 To amend titlel7, Virgin Jslands Code, 10 add chapter 39 enacting the Uniform Athlete Agents Act ---0--- BE 1T ENACTED by the Legislature Of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. Title 17, Virgin Islands Code, is amended by adding chapter 39 to read as follows: “CHAPTER 39. UNIFORM ATHLETE AGENTS ACT §651. Short Title. This chapter may be cited as the Uniform Athlete Agents Act. §652. Definitions. In this chapter, the term (a) "agency contract” means an agreement in which a student-athlete authorizes a person to negotiate or solicit on behalf of the student-athlete a professional-sports- services contract or an endorsement contract. (b) “athlete agent” means an individual who enters into an agency contract with a student-athlete or, directly or indirectly, recruits or solicits a student-athlete to enter into an agency contract.
