86 ROLE OF NONRESIDENT MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES (Board of Trustees Meeting, October 27, 1974) The Board considered the role of Board members who are not resident in the Virgin Islands; and after extended discussion the Board asked that a letter be written to the Governor outlining advantages to the College and ne the Board of Trustees in having @ small number of members not resident in the Virgin Islands who might through their expertness in the field of education contribute effectively to the deliberations of the Board. The important work of the existing members of the Board who fall into this category was cited in the discussion as supporting this position. =~
