Upon their arrival at the scene the Officers observed both vehicles in a head-on collision in the south bound lane. The operators of the vehicles involved in the crash were both male individuals, one was later identified as Mr. Sito Martin who was operating a red 2000 Suzuki Vitara. The second driver was identified as Mr. Kai A. Jackson, he was operating a black 2018 Ford F-150 Truck. The preliminary investigation reveals that the Red Suzuki Vitara was traveling southbound while the Black Ford Pickup truck was traveling northbound. Evidence further indicates that the vehicles collided head-on in the southbound lane. The Emergency Room Physician at the Juan F. Luis Hospital stated that Mr. Sito Martin, 35-years- old, succumbed to the injuries sustained to the body from the accident and was pronounced dead by the Emergency Room Physician. On Tuesday September 13, 2022, the Detectives from Traffic Investigations Bureau located and served 45-year-old Kai A. Jackson with an arrest warrant by the Virgin Islands Superior Court Magistrate. Jackson was charged with Involuntary Manslaughter, Negligent Homicide by Means of a Vehicle and Reckless Endangerment. The bail was set at $50,000; Mr. Jackson posted the 10 percent on his bail and was released, pending his advice rights hearing. ###
