J COLLEGE EMPLOYMENT POLICIES (Board of Trustees Meeting, February 11, 1979) 1. That the Board of Trustees reaffirm the 1965 policy statement in employment policy. 2. That it is the policy of the Board that a specific officer be designated to identify qualified Virgin Islanders for service within the College at all levels and that annual reports by this officer be made to the Board. That interim reports to the Board as to the nonavailability of qualified Virgin Islanders shall be made by this designated officer and attached to all appropriate recommendations for employment so that the Board will know how and why vacancies are filled. 3. That the Board of Trustees adopt as a general goal that the College, while maintaining its emphasis on qualifications, competence and achievement in personnel policy, seek greater presentation from groups in the local population currently underrepresented on the College faculty, and that the adminis— tration place high priority upon achieving that goal.
