T is hereby made known, that whereas l the following Member of the Colonial Council, elected by the Town and Sa- burbs-nf Frederiksted will h ve to retire from the Counpcil in aceordance with Art. 17 of the Colonial Law, viz: 2nd Member Mr. Robt. L. Merwin. Government has resolved in virtue of Art. 28 of the Colonial Law that the GENERAL KLECTION of Members to the Council in lieu of the said gentle- man shall take place in the Court House of Frederiksted Jurisdiction on FRIDAY THE 6TH. MAY a. c. ‘ The polling will commence at 1 o’clock p.m. and in accordance with Art. 30 of the Colonial Law will close at 4 o’clock p. m. at the earliest. At the election no one cin b 2 consi- dered unless he has announced bhi-nself as a eandidate or has been so announced by one of the electors of the electoral district. The announcemert of candi- dature shall either be made in writing by personal attendance of the anouncer before the electoral board.
