A teaching strategy you find successful in helping your students to improve their writing. How you use writing across the curriculum strategies in your subject area1. Your background as a writer. Your background as a teacher. What you hope to gain by participating in the institute. Please start collecting samples of your students’ writing. Letter(s) Enclose a letter of recommendation from your administrator or department chair. Include a letter from the principal that should you be selected, you would be released on May 17 to participate in a pre-institute retreat. Note that The retreat is scheduled for May 17. The VIWP will cover transportation and accommodation. Interview Each applicant will be invited to a group interview in April. Each applicant will be notified about acceptance no later than April 30.
