ACT NO, 7180. BILL NO. 28-0177 TWENTY-EIGHTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2010 An Act amending the Virgin Islands Code title 14, chapter 13, title 16, chapter 2 and title 24, chapter 28, relating to the protection of victims of domestic violence, and enacting The Domestic Violence Prevention Act of 2010 acQee Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: 2010”. SECTION 1. This Act may be cited as “The Domestic Violence Prevention Act of SECTION 2. Title 16 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 2 is amended as follows: (1) by adding sections 99c and 99d to read: “§ 99c (a) An employer may not discharge, suspend or in any manner discriminate or retaliate against an employee, including, an employee who is a victim of a crime or a witness to a crime, including domestic violence for taking time off to appear in court to comply with a subpoena or other court order as a witness in any judicial proceeding. …
