FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE GOVERNOR KENNETH MAPP NAMES CAPTAIN CLIFFORD JOSEPH ACTING DIRECTOR OF VI FIRE SERVICE (July 31, 2015, St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands) Governor Kenneth E. Mapp has named Captain/Fire Marshall Clifford Joseph as acting Director of the Virgin Islands Fire Service effective immediately. Captain Joseph has been with the VIFS for over 20 years. He began his career as a firefighter moving through the ranks as a Fire Corporal in 2003, Fire Sergeant in 2005, Fire Lieutenant in 2009, and most recently Fire Captain/Fire Marshall in 2012. Captain Joseph is a graduate of the VIPD Post Peace Officer/Law Enforcement Training Certification and certified in many areas including; Hazmat 1st Responder Awareness, Conflict Resolution, National Wildfire Incident Command, Fire Science, and a certified responder for Weapons of Mass Destruction. “I appreciate Captain Joseph’s Willingness to serve the community in the capacity of Director of the Virgin Islands Fire Service, he has the full support of my administration to ensure the safety of the Territory” Stated the Governor. ###
