Bolques, Jr. WHEREAS, the Governor of the Virgin Islands, through the Virgin Islands Department 1 of Property and Procurement, executed a lease agreement between the Government of the 2 Virgin Islands and The St. Thomas Cricket Association Inc. for Parcel No-2 of Tract I Estate 3 Nazareth, No. 1 Red Hook Quarter, St. Thomas consisting of 312,150.96 sq. ft. or 7.166 US 4 acres more or less as shown on O.L.G. File No. D9-9978-T025, ; 5 WHEREAS, the premises are leased for an initial term of 30 years with an option to 6 renew for two additional 10-year terms; 7 WHEREAS, the leased premises are to be used to develop and promote cricket on the 8 premises and the lessee has agreed to comply with all the conditions of the R-2 zoning 9 designation including parking, fencing, the playing surface and other permitted uses; 10 WHEREAS, title 31 Virgin Islands Code, section 205, subsection (c) requires all leases 11 of government real estate for a term exceeding one year in addition to being approved by the 12 Governor, must be submitted to and approved by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands; Now 13 Therefore, 14 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: 1 SECTION 1. Pursuant to title 31 Virgin Islands Code, section 205, subsection (c), the 2 Legislature of the Virgin Islands approves the lease agreement between the Government of the 3 Virgin Islands, acting through the Department of Property and Procurement, and The St. 4 Thomas Cricket Association Inc. for Parcel No-2 of Tract I Estate Nazareth, No. 1 Red Hook 5 Quarter, consisting of 312,150.96 sq. ft. or 7.166 US acres, more or less, as shown on O.L.G. 6 File No. D9-9978-T025, for an initial term of 30 years with an option to renew for two 7 additional 10 year terms to develop and promote cricket on the premises. The lessee shall 8 comply with all the conditions of the R-2 zoning designation including parking, fencing, the 9 playing surface and other permitted uses. 10 BILL SUMMARY 11 This bill approves the lease agreement between the Government of the Virgin Islands 12 acting through the Department of Property and Procurement, and The St. Thomas Cricket 13 Association Inc. for Parcel No-2 of Tract I Estate Nazareth, No. 1 Red Hook Quarter, St. 14 Thomas, consisting of 312,150.96 sq. ft. or 7.166 US acres, more or less, as shown on O.L.G. 15 File No. D9-9978-T025 for an initial term of 30 years with an option to renew for two additional 16 10-year terms to develop and promote cricket on the premises.
