Smith, aboard the schoon- er '"Virginia’’yesterday morning on her arrlval from St. Croix, when he suffered a severe injury to his knee, which is sup- posed to be fractured. It appears that when leaving the ves- sel, he remembered some forgotten ar- ticle aboard, and returned to fetch same, when in the semi-darkness, so charactervistic aboard this up-to«date cratt, he fell, injuring the knee severe- ly. Willing ard friendly hands were soon to the rescue. The telepheone was. quickly put in operation, and soon the’ ambulance was on the spot, and the in jured taken to the hospital, where he is still lying 9n a painful condition.
