The post office looks more like a warehouse with the ship- ments of mereantile goods, a large per- centage if not all of which would come by freight if the steamer calied at .he port. A fine concert was rendered in the bandstand last night by the Industrial Brass Band and with bright moonlight was greatly enjoyed by a larze crowd. PERSONAL. We wish to join the friends of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. L. Markie and family of Frederiksted in congratulating them on the yood and encouraging news they re- ceived py cablegram yesterday to the ef- tect that their eldest son Rupert would graduate today at the Medical School of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where he has been qualifying in the hu- manitarian profession of medical doctor gince his graduation in June 1920 at the Agricultnral and Mechanics Arts College of the University of Porto Rico in poly- technic science. Dr. Markoe goes ip a few days to fill an appointment in the Dunbar Memorial Hospital, Detreit, Mich. We wish him a long and brilliant career of usefulness to mankind. As a son of the soil we are proud of him. The special service beld at the Kings- hill Lutheran Church on the ocecasion of the 40 year wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Wilson was largely at- tended and was an interesting eveni,Rev. Skeoch, for the Country District of Frederiksted. SCHOOL NOTES. The Garden Party on the grounds of the Frederiksted Public Grammar School was well attended eon Friday evening. Mr. Francis states that he has received close to SIOO 00 for the Piano Fund. The program was excellent and enjoyed by all.
