August 29 U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS—President Donald Trump has approved the request made by Governor Albert Bryan Jr. to declare a federal emergency in the wake of Hurricane Dorian. The president ordered federal assistance to supplement response efforts in the Territory, and his declaration authorizes the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to coordinate all disaster relief efforts and provide appropriate assistance for required emergency measures.
