ACT NO. 7359 BILL NO. 29-0248 TWENTY-NINTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2012 An Act amending title 17 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 24 to be consistent with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act oN Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. Title 17 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 24 is amended by striking the words “handicapped children” wherever they appear and replacing them with the words “children with disabilities”; by striking the word “handicapped” wherever it appears and replacing it with the word “disabled”; by striking the word “handicap” wherever it appears and replacing it with the word “disability”; by striking the words “are handicapped” wherever they appear and replacing them with the words “have disabilities”; by striking the words “handicapped individuals” wherever they appear and replacing them with the words “individuals with disabilities”; by striking the term “mentally retarded” wherever it appears and replacing it with the term “intellectual disability”; and by striking the term “mental retardation” wherever it …
