TELEGRAMS. ST. CROIX STATION. Halifax. N. S., July 6th.—Three units of the North Atlantic Squadron, under Vice Admiral Sir Michael Culme Sey- mour. arrived in port at noon today, for a brief stay. The ships are H. M. S. Calcutta, flagship, H. M. S. Constance and H. M. 8. Capetown. The fourth unit of the squadron, H. M. S. Wistaria, is at present at Sydney N. S., having cruised u, the St. Lawrence early in the season, Ic is not known how long the fleet will remain in port, but it is expected that they will go to Pictou for the Hector cel- ebration. Henley ou Thames, July 6th. —Hilton Belyea of St. John N B was eliminated from the competition for the Diamond Sculls today by Gollan, British oarsman. Henley on Thames, July 6ih.—The fight for the Grand Challerge cup, pre- mier trophy of the Henley R:gatta, was resumed today with the rowing of a heat in which Brasenose College, Oxford stroke, by W. P. Mellon of Garden City N. Y. was eliminated from th2 contest. The Thames rowing ciub put the Oxori- ans cut of the competition after a hard struggle, finishing three quarters of a length ahead, in the fast time of six min- utes 58 seconds.
