Act No. 6291 (BILL NO. 23-0021) (Approved September 14, 1999) To amend Title 19, Virgin Islands Code, pertaining to the erection, maintenance and operation of crematories, and for other purposes related thereto Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. Title 19, Virgin Islands Code, is amended by redesignating Chapter 59 as Chapter 59B and adding a new Chapter 59A to read: "CHAPTER 59A. CREMATORIES Section 1700. Erection, maintenance and operation of crematories; fees (a) Any funeral home licensed to do business in the Virgin Islands, or individual or corporation formed under the laws of this territory with at least three (3) years training in mortuary science or five (5) years of operating experience, may erect, maintain and operate a crematory in the territory and provide the necessary appliances and facilities for the disposal by incineration of the bodies of the dead, in accordance with the provisions of this chapter. …
