No project cost will be accepted after the bid submittal date. Q. In the bid documents for IFB024DOECC20 (C) it states “6. Type of Contract The Government intends to award more than one respondent to support this effort.” May the government of the USVI please clarify how it intends to award contractors? A. The government of the USVI may award a contract to the lowest responsive bidder for each individual project. Q. Please define “…court finish material.” Listed in #2 of the general scope of work for each bid. A. Strike “court finish material” #2 of the general scope of work for each bid. #2 of the general scope of work for each bid shall read “Safety measures, signage” Q. What security requirements are there for working on school properties? A. School security requirements include but are not limited to proper identification of contractors, personnel and vehicles. Contractor and personnel shall refrain from physical and or oral contact with students unless accompanied by school administrative personnel. Operating within the designated work area. Adhering to any other security requirement in effect at the time of operation. Q. Are there any restrictions to the hours that work can be performed? A. There are no limitations on work hours. VIDE shall be notified of work before or after regular working hours. Q. Can construction limits and any off-limit areas for each location be identified? A. VIDE will work with the winning bidder(s) to identify construction limits, access roads and lay down areas. All other areas will be off limit. Q. Can soil or geo-technical reports for each location be provided? A. VIDE is not in possession of geo-technical reports. Q. Please provide the design requirements of the foundation designs. A. Design requirements shall meet all applicable USVI and federal codes and standards. Refer to the Department of Planning and Natural Resources Division of Permits. Q. Can utility plans or tie-in locations for each location be provided? A. Bidders shall familiarize themselves with each existing site and identify the nearest utility tie-in location. Q. Can the modular units being used and where they will be transported to be specified? A. Modular units and their destinations will be identified by VIDE. Q. Can any information (dimensions, weight, etc.) for the modular units being used be provided? A. Note: These are used modular units; bidders shall refer to the unit information tags and/or manufacturer for modular unit specification. Q. Are the modular units to be used ready for transportation and if not, who will be responsible for making the necessary repairs? A. All modular units will be ready for transportation prior to awarding of a contract. Q. What will need to be done with the site where the units are currently sitting at after they are moved? A. No action will be required at the modular holding site (Central High School) after relocating the identified mods. Q. Can a cross section or design criteria for the walkways be provided? A. Winning bidders are responsible for the design of these features. See item #1 on the itemized bid sheet. Refer to the walkways and sidewalks at existing modular school sites for design guidance. Design requirements shall meet all applicable USVI and federal codes and standards. Q. Will the walkways and entrance/exits be designed to minimum ADA requirements? A. Ramps landings and sidewalk shall meet ADA requirements. Design requirements shall meet all applicable USVI and federal codes and standards. Q. What finish is to be applied to the concrete sidewalks? A. All concrete sidewalks are to be finished to match the existing modular school sidewalks and broom finished for the office installations. Q. What finish is to be applied to the wood ramps? A. All wooden ramps shall be finished with deck paint to match the existing modular schools. Q. Do concrete sidewalks need railing? If so, what material? A. All concrete sidewalks are to be finished to match the existing modular school sidewalks. Design requirements shall meet all applicable USVI and federal codes and standards. Q. Will railing on ramps be metal or wood? A. All railings on ramps shall be made of pressurized wood and finished with UV stabilized sealer to match the existing modular schools. Ramp railings shall also include aluminum ADA compliant handrails to match the existing modular schools. Design requirements shall meet all applicable USVI and federal codes and standards. Q. Who can vendors call to do site visits? A. Bidders can arrange site visits with Mr. Joseph Sibilly, VIDE Facilities. Manager at 340-690-1834 All other terms and conditions remain the same. A copy of this amendment must be returned with your bid.
