FLOOR BILL NO. 35-0219 Thirty-Fifth Legislature of the Virgin Islands December 11, 2023 An Act changing the date for commencing the 2024 regular session of the Legislature of the Virgin Islands to January 22, 2024 PROPOSED BY: Senator Novelle E. Francis, Jr. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: 1 SECTION 1. Pursuant to the authority conferred on the Legislature of the Virgin Islands 2 by section 7(a) of the Revised Organic Act of the Virgin Islands, 48 U.S.C. § 1573(a), to change 3 the commencement date of the annual regular session of the Legislature, the 2024 regular 4 session of the Legislature of the Virgin Islands commences on January 22, 2024. 5 BILL SUMMARY 6 This bill changes the date of the commencement of the 2024 annual session from the 7 second Monday in January to the fourth Monday in January. 8 BR23-0931/December 1, 2023/GC 9
